In 2007, we
celebrate our 69th year
in East Durham! The Shamrock House has a well established
reputation for its casual, friendly atmosphere and its comfortable
Accommodations,
terrific entertainment, and delicious home style meals. But most of
all, East Durham and The Shamrock House are famous for its natural
beauty of the surrounding countryside and the warm Irish Hospitality
which have earned this tiny village the nickname "The Emerald Isle
of the Catskills."
The Shamrock House is a short 5 minute walk to the location of the
Irish Cultural and Sports Centre, as well as The National Shrine of
Our Lady of Knock, and The Irish American Heritage Museum. East
Durham also hosts
Irish football games, (on the Biggest Football Field this side of
Croke Park, Dublin !!) Ceili Dances, a Feis and The Traditional Arts
Week in July! Best of all, it is the summer home of the greatest
names in Irish Music!!! The Shamrock House is also near excellent
Horseback Riding, Antique Shops, Auction Houses, and Water Parks!!!
We are a short drive to Howe Caverns,
The New York State Fireman's Museum, FDR Home, Museum and Library, Woodstock,
and Much More!
East Durham is centrally located to numerous great attractions, and
since it is less than a three hour drive from New York City, Boston,
and Syracuse, it is very easy to "Take a Drive to Ireland!”
